About the Lavender Inn

The Lavender Inn is the Ultimate Retreat for Relaxation and Rejuvenation. Our friendly innkeeper, Beth, will help you discover Ojai which is known for its artistic, healthy and spiritual environment.

Horiz Fountain The Lavender Inn has 7 rooms in addition to an attached cottage - each boasts a unique decor, a rich blend of period antiques, comfortable furnishings, bold colors and attention to detail. A charming, spacious cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway or longer stay with the kitchenette. Relax and read or talk in the cozy living room in front of the fire listening to music and sipping wine. The grounds are breathtaking with tall oaks, mountain views, fountains, a pond and, of course, a variety of lavenders.

The owners of the Lavender Inn, Kathy and Mark Hartley, are passionate about preserving and restoring historic buildings. Just around corner from the Lavender Inn is the Ojai Theatre (www.ojaitheatre.com) , formerly the Ojai Playhouse which was built in 1910 and remodeled in old Hollywood style in June of 2008.

The Watermark Restaurant and W20 Lounge (www.watermarkonmain.com) in Ventura, California was built in 1907 and magnificently transformed over 1 year of planning and 2 years of building. Their love for keeping the integrity of old buildings and attention to detail is evident when you visit their historic businesses.

Lavender Pets

We are a pet-friendly Inn! In fact there are sightings of our own dogs at the Lavender Inn.

Vanessa’s sweet Tia often gets invited by guests to the park. Jack, Beth’s golden retriever, is well-behaved helping Beth in the office (but not so much at home). You won’t see Kathy’s springer Tucker at the Inn yet—the “T” in Tucker is for trouble—he’s always in trouble. Diana’s chihuahua is too tiny and only occasionally visits. There is a $25 cleaning fee for our guest dogs who can stay in Room 1 or the Provence Cottage with a private yard.

In consideration of our other guests, please don’t leave your dog alone in the room.
